Sadly, the month of May has come to an end. Which means, Mental Health Awareness Month is over. But for me, everyday is Mental Health Awareness.
I will continue to learn and see what I can do to end the stigma that surrounds Mental Health. As I did my research about mental health, I didn’t notice how many people suffered from mental illnesses and how little attention is spent on mental health compared to physical health. Yikes! This is truly heart breaking. I struggle with depression and anxiety from time to time and I didn’t know how to handle it. I was always a huge mess. January 2019 I decided to change my diet. I was skeptical about it so I decided to try it for 2 weeks. The changes it did to my body and my mental health with in those 2 weeks were amazing! As I decided to stick to the diet, now the way I handle stress, depression and anxiety has been easier. I can’t say it’s a cure but it helped me handle it so much better! What you eat does affect you mentally and physically.
For the month of June I will talk about my diet and how it affects me mentally, emotionally and physically. I will also share the benefits it does for our health, our environment and our animals. I’m so excited to share this journey with you. But remember, we don’t only have to bring awareness to mental health in the month of May. Make every month Mental Health Awareness month!
