I feel summer wasn’t long enough, but I am happy the fall season is upon us! NFL season has begun! My team, well, let me say we didn’t start the season the way we hoped it would be BUT, it was a great intro to the NFL season. I’m still carrying hope for my team. We are currently 2-2. We’ll see where we will be in these upcoming games. But, going back to summer, I was unable to do everything on my summer bucket list, but overall, it was a great one. Here are some of my highlights from Summer 2024.

  • We took a trip to Chicago. I always enjoy visiting where My Favorite Person was born and raised. I continue to learn so much more about him, and I love it. We attended his friend’s wedding. I met more of his friends there, and it was nice to finally meet them in person. We also had a chance to catch up with some of his other friends (Glych’d Up & JDN were one of them. Make sure to stop at my page titled “Check Them Out!” And find out more about their talents). We also had time to spend with his cousins, who we stayed with. I always enjoy myself when I’m over there.
  • I was able to say goodbye to my former client and a few staff members at one of my favorite schools. As many of you know, I work at different schools. I’m unsure when I’ll return to this one, but I was approved to work during the summer, and I was able to spend my last days there with my former clients and a few amazing individuals. Jim Francis Meza was one of them. He’s a patient human being with a lot of stories and great energy. He is ready to help individuals where he can. Don’t forget to check out his podcast “Almost Famous with Jim Francis Meza.”
  • We also took a second trip to Chicago to surprise his cousin for her birthday. We were there for another reason. SHE GOT ENGAGED! Her now fiancé told us his plan in advance, and we knew we HAD to be there to support and see that beautiful smile on their face. She was all glammed out, ready to party, and the proposal was heartfelt and beautiful. She had no clue it was coming. Even though I had only known his cousin for a short while, seeing her and her fiancé with a smile on their face and ready to start a new chapter in their life made me happy. We celebrated them with a brunch the next day.
  • I was able to help out a friend with her business. I’ve known her family for some time now, and I remember when she first shared her business plan with me, and now she has a full takeout spot for you to order. If you live in the San Fernando Valley, you have to try this place. I highly recommend it to those who would like to try Puerto Rican food and those who like Puerto Rican dishes. It’s called Tainos LA! I enjoy their dishes! My favorite dishes* are Arróz a La Criolla and Mofóngo & Camorónes. My Favorite Person’s dish is Arróz Con Pollo, and my mother’s is Pernil & Monfóngo. We each have a favorite dish from that restaurant. Make sure to place your order!
  • I also had the opportunity to take a trip to Nashville, Tennessee! For those of you who personally know me, you know I’ve been wanting to move out of California for quite some time now. You also know Nashville has been at the top of my list. From my experience, the people down in Nashville are kind, welcoming, and Southern hospitality is a real thing. It felt nice and safe being there. We went down to Nashville for a birthday (the birthday girl turned 21. Finally!) I enjoyed taking shots with her, getting to learn more about her, doing my best to make sure her 21st was great, and I enjoyed getting to meet more of My Favorite Person’s family. I would like to learn more of the history down in Nashville.

As you read, I had some good highlights from the summer, but FALL IS UPON US. I’m ready to do fall festivities like going to at least 3 different pumpkin patches this year with My Favorite Person, my mom, and my Tia (aunt). I have already started drinking fall beverages and desserts. I know My Favorite Person is into the spooky festivities. So, for him, we’ll be going to haunted houses, horror nights at Universal Studios, and any other scary event you can think of. I’m ready to dress in this cozy season’s attire. I have my autumn playlist ready.

I live in California, so if you have any ideas on how to make this time feel more like fall, share them in the comments below. I would also like to hear how your summer went and your plans for this fall season. Also, remember, Everyting’s Otay!

*For those of you who read my previous articles, I am no longer on an all vegan diet but predominantly still stick to a vegan diet. I have incorporated seafood and dairy into my diet, and yes, I do eat meat while on vacation.
